hi guy's great site keep up the good work.
i guess like many other other's it all started with a pair of adidas kick, which i had around 1977 jubilee year..from then i was hooked on trainers and still are to this day.
Around 1979/80 i was making trips up to lillywhites to purchase trimm trabb, forest hills..hawahi ,and trx and also to check out the fila selection.
I got my first diadora elites from sedgwicks in walthamstow and later a pair of mega rare red/fluro yellow diadora ed moses.
As my love of sportwear grew and my parents grew poorer(lol)i went onto hight school and was soon sporting, various colour kickers from bertie in soho, terrinda from nic nacks soho, farah trousers, lyle & scott roll necks and ski jackets from hugo and the ski range in c&a which was popular(anyone remember the brand name ?)and all this was worn to skool..hahah.
As we went into 84 i discovered breakdance and electro music and my trainer taste went more towards,,superstars, puma states, clydes.
Now im 41 and still mad about trainers,i have around 40 pairs, including boxed trimm trab, diadora elite, grandslam and nike jordan mk2.mk3.mk4,...also settanta in red and blue..terrinda in blue..
Always searching over the bootsales for oldskool stuff..just picked up a mint copy of borg on borg for 50p...bargain.
Great to find your shop,as im still in walthamstow, ill pop in for a purchase or two....

Favorite item I still have is a burberry jacket in wool with the check on the outside and silk lining, but that was one of the later items, a geezer I know had armani jumper in light blue with green eagle best one I've ever seen, and what we're those adidas shoes called from back in the day usually in brown with the metal badge on the side, still wear fila, tacchini, lacoste, armani, boss, etc, etc, etc but wish it was all old skool instead new.to many years and far to many pounds to wear any vintage nowadays.
great site,keep it up.
Birmingham.

WHAT A TIME TO BE A LAD. YOU COULD SPEND MORE ON THE CLOTHES THAN YOUR GIRLFIEND, WALK AROUND LIKE YOU WERE THE BEES IN FAR OFF CITYS AND COUNTRIES AND YOU FOUND YOURSELF TALKING AT HALF-TIME ABOUT MATEY'S SYONE ISLAND OVER THERE, INSTEAD OF THE PRICE OF THE MATCH AND RELEGATION. GOOD YEARS AND WHERE CAN I GET SOME OF THOSE BURGANDY DIADORA ED MOSES WITH THE SILVER STRIPE. FRED

Love the all the photos on the site, takes me back to when I was a boy.Just bought a fila white line and must say I look the "BUSINESS"....
Jan 15 2008 12:38 am
i first noticed the casual look worn when i was a boy aged 13 in 1985, a lad 5 years older than me would travel on our glasgow rangers bus, but often he opted to get the train home with the firm (for some reason, i soon went with him) he was into his borg elites ,timberland mocs, palladiums, ciao, fiorucci (c.n.) chevignon, chipie and of course lacoste etc.. this must just have been after the first days of fila, tacchini, pringle etc - from then i was hooked a casual at 13, good for getting of with certain charges. 1989 and streetrave and slam (acid house)destroyed the scene in scotland , with most boys opting for the class a buzz than addrenallin fight buzz. osti r.i.p.

OHHHHHH YESSSSS, Top site mate.
I remember the Tacchini Dallas trackie bottoms. A must for the terraces at QPR and Brentford. One of my favourite items had to be my Benetton Rugby Top(white and blue).
Had 2 Dallas jackets ( Dark blue and light blue),2 Adidas New York trackie jackets(light blue and yellow),A red Fila Settanta, 2 Lacoste full trackies(white with red and green piping with a t-shirt and cap to match, and a navy one), countless Lacoste, tacchini, fila polos, a couple of Pringles (diamond and plain), a couple of Lyle and Scott tank tops,Lois cords which HAD to be split at the bottom, as did ALL my jeans, Nike Wimbledons, Gold Diadoras, Gazelles (red and blue).
Anyone remember wearing 1 red and 1 blue trainer, or was that just me and my mates ?
I remember Cecil Gee, there was a shop in Covent Garden and i think there was one in Oxford Street as well? A pastel crew neck jumper was a must if you could't afford an armani ( i swapped an Adidas New York(yellow) for a wicked Armani Jumper at the Walton Hop, In Walton On Thames.
Anybody remember the massive Adidas shop at Tottenham Court Road?
Counting the cost of what you were wearing every day?
I must stress that i didn't have all this stuff at the same time, most of it was swapped with mates and cousins, but it was a good way of looking like we were minted as, everytime we went out, we were wearing something different.
Got rid of all this stuff years ago, more's the pity, but have started collecting (and wearing) a lot of it again, and i must say it still looks the bo**ocks.
Thanks for the memories boss.
Rusty.

Jun 16 2007 03:42 am
great site mate, first thing i remember wearing from that era was a 3 coloured patrick kagool, light blue, burgandy and white, the puma g vilas trainers were classics too,at that time anyway,my first tacchini i wished i'd kept, coz i havent seen one like it again, black with two zipped pockets that would zip up to just below the armpits with a blue lining, like i said only ever seen one other on a man city lad when they played at carlisle, wouldnt mind trying to get hold of one again, although probably didnt do xxl in those days lol, keep up the good work, mike, carlisle

Top site, brings back so many good memories, like saving up my paper-round money as a 14 year old back in 1983 to buy a Tacchini New Young Line Tracksuit top in Gwynn's in Cardiff, 'I could have bought a suit for that price' was my old man's reaction when I told him I'd spent £60 on it. Ah if only Fila & Tacchini would realise the market for proper sized gear nowadays and not concentrate on those who've never had a pint or a kebab in their lives. Keep the Faith lads - Paul CCFC

first noticed casual clothing when i went to liverpool match with my uncle in 1982 everyone was dressed in fila or sergio ever since then i have followed the casual scene once we got back home all i could talk about to my mates was how all these lads with wedge haircuts wore sergio and fila it was a race to grow our hair and get myself a sergio or fila of i set to manchester to purchase my first tracksuit once in hurleys i was like a kid in a sweet shop the rest is history. then a couple of years ago watched the buisness and i was hooked again.cant get enough of the reissues wish i had kept my old trackies.of all the casual fashion still think the fila and sergio r the best even now as a 38 year old i am addicted to buying them happy days

First noticed Casuals in March 83 during a school football tour of Belgium when my mates pointed at a group of English guys in the town centre and said, "Look, they're all in Fila!". Month later went with my cousin to stand in the old Paddock at QPR and on seeing all the Casuals there I was hooked. Fave shops were Stuarts and a place called 'Supersports' in High Street Ken'. Could never afford Forest Hills or Elite then but have since bought orginals from eBay which are treasured. Wore loads of Fila, Tacchini, Lois, Barrie and Pringle back then. Been a Casual since then and still wear Lacoste, Burberry (still some class items despite the image!), CP, Y-3, PRPS and Adidas. Being a Casual gave you an appreciation of clothes and what looks good and has stood you in good stead even if you only wear Casual brands a minority of times now days. Great site! Paul in Brentford

It came and went so quickly. Yep lois cords. I had about 5 colours with matching Lyles/Pringles and a Sergio or fila on top. I was more of a kickers person, how cool were they. Did anyone have tags of different colours on one shoe i had about three and collected them. Great clothes great era.

I remember getting on the train with my weekends wages at 17 yrs old..going to a sports shop in Ealing west london which was racked to the ceiling with Pringles and Lyle and Scots!!.My dad thought i was mad..Diadora elite golds with pale blue lois cords frayed at the bottom..I even had a pair of yellow farahs..Nike 2 tone kaguls full royal blue tachinni tracksuit..god i thought i was the bees kneess....watching the buisness reminded me of my holiday in turkey when i stepped out in lacoste tennis shorts with matching polo and tank top with green and red tipping!!...and permed hair at the back ...come on you casuals!!! where are u all now
Mar 31 2007 12:14 am
I remember rollnecks, diamond pringles & farahs, full light blue Tacchini tracksuits, dark blue fila BJ's, lacoste polo's with navy tacchini bottoms! All these dudes bowling about in gear that i couldn't afford!! But there were ways around it and I got myself a Tacchini tracksuit, the odd lacsote for a birthday present etc & made it in the end. I must admit , 1st time I watched The Business, especially when Frankie went into that shop, it did bring back those feelings of 'i must get one of those'.
TOP FASHION, TOP SITE!!
