Burberry, Lacoste & other items
So far i've been concentrating on the 'big two' (Fila and Tacchini), but there were far more options than these 2 for the boys.
The ever popular Lacoste was often sported, although it was a lot harder to get hold of in those days. Pictures to follow.
This page will also feature photos of Benetton, Burberry, Lyle & Scott, again fashionable, Pringle and some other less expected names that found there way onto the terraces, (although you probably wouldn't be seen dead in them now,or even shortly afterwards).
The Diamond check Pringle, was probably ranked #1, although there was nothing wrong with Lyle & Scott either!
The Burberry Mac was certainly seen sported on the terraces, although the Harrington type jacket, usually in the beige (as per the mac), was more common. I dont think the cap was an option in those days, but i did see a Deerstalker or two!
Where did you get that hat?... Come on admit it ...who wore one, I know someone very close around here who was definately guilty..but i wont mention any names JP!
As we were discussing on one of the other pages, footwear, generally trainers were/are of the upmost priority. Some photos here of my very own top three, the Diadora Gold Elite, Adidas Forest Hills and the navy Kicker Boots, cor blimey guvnor good job it aint scratch & sniff!!
The famous (or infamous) Blue & white Benetton Rugby Shirt!
Ellesse was very popular too, check out this nice little number, complete with zip fob emblem of the classic Ellesse logo!
Ah, now this is the lacoste I was talking about, it also came in white & light blue I seem to remember, a classic piece of gear to bowl around in!
You wont see the answers written in the clouds boys!
Another clip from 'The Business', with a nice variety of gear, (not that sort!)
